The Cairns Model Railway Club Inc (CMRC) was formed in 2018 to foster the interest in and development of model railways and associated model making.

Since inception the club has been donated an HO shunting layout, an N scale layout which replicates an industrial town in the north of England and two large HO Layouts.

We're currently looking for new clubrooms and most of our layouts are currently in storage. We're still conducting meetings and we have a display at Mount Sheridan Plaza. Please visit our main web site for full details. See link below.

The club holds informal meetings every Thursday evening (5.00pm) and a formal monthly meeting on the third Sunday of each month (10.30am) in Manunda, to which all visitors and prospective members are welcome. Please contact us for the address.

We now have a display at Mount Sheridan Plaza

The Management of Mount Sheridan Plaza have given us temporary space in a shop directly opposite K-Mart. The shop is rather small, but we've been able to set up an interesting display including our small Thomas Layout which has been an instant hit with the kids.

We're still looking for a permanent clubhouse where we can to work on and run our larger layouts, but the display at Mount Sheridan Plaza will allow us to attract more publicity and more members.

The display can be seen during opening hours, but we only plan to ne there on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays until 5.30pm, subject to us being able to find volunteers to open the doors. We'll also try to stay open until 7.30 on Thursdays depending on public interest.

If you visit us, kids can run the trains, but we ask parents to constantly supervise them. Please don't leave them with us and go shopping.

We ask anyone who runs the trains to consider a gold coin donation. Our Public Liability Insurance is over $800.
